Elazig Governor released a statement in which it said 57 people lost their lives in Elazig's Okcular, Yukari Kanatli and Kayali villages due to a massive earthquake.
"More than 100 people people have been injured in the quake," the directorate said. The directorate announced the magnitude of the earthquake as 5,8 on the Richter scale; however the Bogazici University's Kandilli Observatory and Seismology Institute put it around 6 on the Richter scale.
